Nº 006 Why does this exist?
This Spanish Town Is Completely Surrounded by France
Llívia is Spanish, but it sits entirely inside France. In 1659 a peace treaty handed France 33 villages in the Cerdanya valley. Llívia was the region's old capital, so it counted as a town, not a village, and stayed Spanish.
